The guys from Mojang decided to remind how the edition for computers on the old Java engine is now called. They added a Java Edition label to the logo on the main screen.
For many years, the developers have been releasing modified versions of the game for various events, for example, Windows 10 Edition and Education Edition. They are made using another engine and programming language, so the old one is now referred to as the Java Edition.
In order to help the players get used to this edition name, it was placed to the most prominent and viewed element in the game - the main menu. Whether it is the right step is not yet known, it will become clear a bit later.
Of course, in this version the bugs have been fixed that the users had been reporting about on a certain Mojang website. Therefore, Minecraft 1.12.2 is worth downloading and playing, just for the sake of stability!
