Minecraft 1.20.2 Java Edition Download
Many players found inspiration in the content the developers had added to Minecraft 1.20.1. They have not yet checked it out, but the pre-versions of Minecraft 1.20.2 are already released. You can try these new options and see what awaits you in the global update in the future.

Content:
Changes
- Barriers will no longer create falling particles if objects fall on them;
- Players cannot pour water onto barriers in creative mode;
- Chorus flowers do not provide support for hanging or standing blocks;
- Added several tooltips for decorated pots;
- The enchanting table texture has been reverted to the 1.18 Pre5 texture to match the smithing table.
Smithing table:
- In the smithing template, you can use the Shift + hotkey to send or pick up an item.
Sponges:
- Sponges have several sounds, both for a regular sponge and a wet one.
Mobs:
- Bees can collect pollen from chorus flowers and spore blossoms;
- Camels, frogs, goats, and sniffers immediately run away when damaged;
- Villagers will not have their discount on goods sold multiplied or decreased if they are re-infected and cured (players on classic servers should take a close look at this feature if they used this technique previously – it significantly changes trading with villagers);
- Changed the system for calculating attack range for mobs. It depends on various factors: bounding boxes, horizontal direction, and so on;
- Riding medium-sized mobs allows players to avoid attacks from small mobs (for example, baby zombies);
- Riding tall mobs allows players to avoid attacks from medium-sized mobs. For example, if you are riding a camel, the zombie cannot deal you damage.
Ore generation:
- Diamond ore is most often generated in the deepslate layers of the Overworld;
- Added a new placement, from height -64 to -4, where layers of 8 blocks can occur.
General changes
- The last 50 commands you used in the chat are saved. The system only stores them during the gaming session;
- You can access the command history by pressing the up or down arrow;
- The latest commands are in the text file command_history.txt in the directory with the Minecraft game;
- Bamboo fences and gates are now stored together;
- Improving the smithing and obtaining the corresponding advancement grants the player 150 experience;
- When opening a new deal with villagers, the system will randomly determine the order in the user interface;
- The LWJGL library has been updated to version 3.3.2;
- The Java version is downloaded by default and updated to Microsoft Open JDK 17.0.8;
- Added link checking in data packets to improve security and integrity;
- If you download a resource pack that contains links or prohibited characters, the system will warn you about that;
- When moving files and sections not recognized as textures, resource packs will not be copied by dragging.
Experimental changes
Do not forget that Mojang developers regularly release various experimental options you can use in the game by activating a specific item. This update adds the Villager Trade Rebalance toggle.
World generation:
- The ancient city increases the chance of creating enchanted books with Mending;
- The desert temple increases the chance of creating enchanted books with Unbreaking;
- The jungle temple increases the chance of creating enchanted books with Unbreaking;
- The mineshaft increases the chance of creating enchanted books with Efficiency;
- The pillager outpost increases the chance of creating enchanted books with Quick Charge.
Villagers:
- The update changes the trading system with villagers, namely with librarians: the villagers offer specific enchanted books depending on what biome they are in;
- In the jungles and swamps, villages do not appear naturally, so the player will have to independently breed NPCs there to gain access to crafts and all the options in the game;
- All sold enchanted books will be divided into several categories: special and regular options;
- Special books have certain enchantments with a fixed enchantment level, and they are mainly available only from master librarians;
- Regular books will not have a certain level, as in the standard versions of the game;
- All enchantments previously available for crossbows, fishing rods, and tridents have been removed from sale;
- The update adds 7 new maps available from cartographers. They largely depend on the biome they come from;
- Village maps from villagers will point to a specific settlement in the biome. For example, the jungle explorer map points to a pyramid, while the map from the swamp NPC will point to a swamp hut;
- The update changes the trades of armorers, which is also a crucial change for Minecraft. It will be as follows;
- To buy diamond armor from a villager, you will have to spend a certain amount of diamonds;
- Most master armorers can buy iron blocks and give several emeralds for them;
- You can buy chain mail armor only from armorers located in swamps and jungles;
- Armorers from the savannah sell cursed diamond armor at reduced prices;
- Taiga armorers can exchange one element of diamond armor for another;
- There are many new trades for buying and selling various items, but all these changes are not final. Some tables can help you understand what items villagers sell and buy.
The update fixes 185 issues previously observed in versions 1.20 and earlier game releases.
