Snapshot Minecraft 25w02a Java Edition Download (Review)

Snapshot 25w02a was released on January 8, 2025, and is the first version of the update for Minecraft 1.21.5 Spring Drop. It is packed with new features, delighting players with anticipated content right from the first days of the New Year.

The snapshot contains new additions such as wildflowers, fallen, and falling leaves. Additionally, the game world will become more diverse, as one of the mobs has finally received texture variations. Currently, updated textures are available for pigs, and in future snapshots, you will discover new variants for other creatures.

Innovations

Wildflowers. New types of flowers (wildflowers) will now generate in meadows and birch forests, serving as another source of yellow dye. They can be grown using bone meal and can be placed in a single block up to 4 units. They look beautiful and can have multiple forms.

Dry leaves. This is a new block in Minecraft, naturally found in regular and dark forests. It represents dried leaves and can be used as fuel! Additionally, players can obtain dry leaves by placing regular leaves in a furnace with fuel. The output will be this block.

· Leaves can now be seen falling from trees in the forest.

· Fallen leaves are scattered on the ground.

Mobs. The game will finally have variety for pigs. In the cubic world, you will encounter not only pink pigs, but also snowy pigs and tropical pigs. They inhabit different biomes, depending on the selected type. If players decide to breed these mobs, their color will directly depend on the color of the parents.

Changes

Snapshot 25w02a includes many changes that you need to know about!

· The Pale Garden has significantly increased in size;

· Mansions finally generate in the Pale Garden, something that was previously impossible;

· The leaves and saplings of the trees in the Pale Garden have slightly changed textures;

· You can now name the script mob using a name tag;

· The crafting recipe for the magnetite has been changed. Now, it requires an iron ingot, so any player can make this item. Additionally, you can find it in a ruined portal in Minecraft;

· Tall grass now spawns less frequently in meadows;

· The eyeflower's transition from one state to another depends largely on the time of day;

· New sounds have been added for some iron items (bars, trapdoors, doors, plates);

· Sleeping script mobs can no longer spawn script mobs;

· New textures have been added for leaves falling from trees.

Installation

Step 1. Open TLauncher and go to the Settings tab by clicking the gear icon in the lower right corner.

Step 2. Select the Display Snapshots checkbox, and do not forget to save the changes by clicking the appropriate button at the bottom.

Step 3. On the main screen of TLauncher, open the version selection tab, select the desired snapshot, and click 'Install' or 'Launch the Game' if the snapshot is already installed.
