The 26.3 update for Minecraft: Java Edition will change familiar forest areas and add more possibilities for decorative building. The version will become the full third game drop of 2026 and will be released in the third quarter. At the center of the update will be a new biome — the Mottled Forest, filled with unusual vegetation, unique tree species, and a new structure to explore.
Ready-made bases for stopping during long journeys appear in different parts of the world with Wandering Survival Shelters. Compact shelters generate in plains, deserts, taigas, dark forests, cherry groves, snowy mountains, and even oceans. Beds, storage, and spaces for furnaces, enchanting tables, and other equipment are already provided inside.
Forged Primal Ores expands several areas of survival at once — resource gathering, equipment, farming, and world exploration. Ruby, azurite, auralite, malachite, and enderite appear underground and in the End, allowing new tiers of tools and armor to be crafted, including variants stronger than diamond and netherite.
The aftermath of an explosion no longer has to leave a permanent crater. Pristine Survival Restoration can rebuild a destroyed area, visually throwing debris into the air and then returning blocks layer by layer.
Ghast Sight Precision shows the consequences of a flying explosive projectile in advance. For ghast and dragon fireballs, Wither skulls, wind charges, dispenser shots, and other supported attacks, the trajectory to the expected collision point is calculated.
The new animals in Wild Pet Menagerie are not limited to being summoned through Creative mode, but naturally populate suitable areas. Creatures can be encountered during ordinary journeys through rivers, oceans, snowy regions, villages, and other biomes.
The equipment system is expanded with seventeen complete sets in Vanquisher Battle Gear. Crafting uses both familiar materials such as emerald, redstone, copper, and amethyst, as well as new resources. Tin ore, void ore, and unstable antimatter ore generate underground.
Arcane Survival Spells integrates magical duels directly into ordinary survival. Magic wands are assembled from nine types of wood and three variants of magical cores, resulting in 27 combinations. A separate crafting table is used to make them, including components dropped by monsters.
Everyday client-side functions are collected into one set with Nimble Survival Tools. Exploration features include smooth camera zoom, maximum brightness, disabling rain and snow, removing underwater fog, and displaying beacon range boundaries. Light levels are shown directly on blocks, helping identify places where mobs may spawn.
More than twenty new regions expand the land and oceans in Vibrant Biome Exploration. They include salt flats, Mediterranean scrublands, the Dead Forest, deep Abyssal Trenches, and coral forests.
