Changes
Mushrooms can now be placed at any light level. Red and brown mushrooms can now be placed on any blocks with a solid top surface, regardless of the light level. However, their natural spread still requires a light level below 13, except on special blocks such as mycelium.
Sulfur cave generation in old worlds. When updating worlds created before the release of Caves & Cliffs, sulfur caves can now appear beneath previously generated chunks. This makes it possible to encounter the new biome even beneath areas that have been explored for a long time.
Bug Fixes
In this snapshot, the developers fixed 29 bugs. Some of the most interesting fixes include:
- Unintentional jumping in water — players and other entities should no longer automatically jump when colliding with blocks, falling into water, or approaching the boundary of a liquid.
- Ghost items — fixed a bug that could cause nonexistent items to appear when copying items using the middle mouse button in Creative mode.
- Obsidian platform in the End — entering the End in Spectator mode no longer causes the platform to regenerate.
- Item frame bugs — fixed item frames dropping incorrectly from ceilings, as well as issues with their position, orientation, and teleportation.
- Distorted minecart sounds — fixed a bug that caused moving minecart sounds to play incorrectly.
