Minecraft 26.1 Snashot-5 Java Edition Download (Overview)
26.1 Snapshot-5 is the fifth snapshot of version 26.1 for Minecraft: Java Edition, released on January 27, 2026. The update is small but atmospheric: a new unusual flower has been added to the spring drop, the textures of some baby mobs have been updated, and several new sounds have been introduced.

New Features
Golden Dandelion
A Golden Dandelion has been added to the game — an unusual functional flower with useful properties. It is crafted from a regular dandelion and 8 gold nuggets (the dandelion is placed in the center of the crafting table, with gold placed around it). It can also be purchased from the Wandering Trader. It can be placed on the ground or planted in a flower pot, like regular flowers. It is used to create yellow dye.
The Golden Dandelion affects the growth of baby mobs:
- When used on a baby mob, it stops its growth.
- Using it again resumes growth.
- The item does not work on monsters (including rideable undead) or villagers.
Baby Mob Changes
Chickens have received new sound effects, making their behavior more lively and atmospheric. The models and textures of baby versions of the following mobs have been redesigned:
· Axolotl
· Dolphin
· Glow Squid
· Squid
· Turtle
Installation
Step 1. Open TLauncher and go to the Settings tab by clicking the gear icon in the lower right corner.
Step 2. Select the Display Snapshots checkbox, and do not forget to save the changes by clicking the appropriate button at the bottom.
Step 3. On the main screen of TLauncher, open the version selection tab, select the desired snapshot, and click 'Install' or 'Launch the Game' if the snapshot is already installed.
